Aalst: a charming village in the extreme tip of the province of Gelderland. The village is located in the river clay area of the Bommelerwaard, near the city of Zaltbommel, and has a rich history. The old brickworks is still intact and there is even a part of the original moat of Kasteel Aalst.

From the holiday park, there are beautiful walking and cycling routes along the water and through the beautiful recreation area of 'de Neswaarden' and Bommelerwaard. You can discover the versatility of the area, with its rivers, dunes, bikes, floodplains, villages and castles.
The charming city of Zaltbommel is just a 20 minute drive from the holiday park. The city has many surprising side streets, shops and restaurants and is definitely worth a visit during your stay at Recreatiepark het Esmeer. During the tourist season, you can also explore this distinctive city under the guidance of a professional city guide.
The water-rich environment is also perfect for water sports enthusiasts and anglers. At the Esmeer recreational lake/beach, you can sail, surf, swim or go on a day trip by boat to the Biesbosch National Park.
On the Esmeer you will find a real marina, a restaurant with large terrace, a beach and play area. There is plenty to do for all ages in the area surrounding Recreatiepark Het Esmeer!
