The Veluwe: the area characterised by captivating natural landscapes and authentic farms. In the area surrounding Recreatiepark 't Gelloo, you can go on beautiful walks and bike rides through the woods, on the Ede heathlands and through the nearby towns and villages.
The Hoge Veluwe National Park is located just 15 minutes' drive away from Recreatiepark 't Gelloo. In this unique nature reserve, you can walk and cycle, spot wildlife (with a little luck!) and visit the Kröller-Müller Museum, which contains the second largest Van Gogh collection in the world.
The municipality of Ede has almost 115,000 residents. Besides the capital of Ede, the villages of Bennekom, Ederveen, Harskamp, Hoenderloo, De Klomp, Otterlo and Wekerom also belong to the municipality of Ede.
Ede itself is a charming town where you can spend the day shopping or relax in one of the many coffee bars or restaurants. Ede also has one of the best ice cream parlours in Holland, where you can treat yourself to some delicious scoops of Italian ice cream in the main season.
Along the A12, built into the sound barrier, you will find CineMec: the cinema with the largest screening room in Holland.
Heideweek takes place each year in Ede during the last week of August. Both in Ede itself and the nearby villages, various events such as fairs, sports competitions and performances are organised, and on the first Saturday, there is a Heide-optocht with beautifully decorated floats through the centre of Ede.
There are all kinds of things to do on the park itself and in the area surrounding Ede. For example, you could visit one of the many museums, zoos, amusement parks or indoor and outdoor play areas.
