The TopParken group, as we know it today, was founded in 2004 by the Bergervoet family. At the time, the company was founded as a project developer and consisted of various high-quality vacation resorts and accommodations in the Netherlands. Chalets were hereby increasingly replaced by full-fledged vacation homes, equipped with all the modern conveniences and comforts. Due to the success of the first resorts, there was further expansion in the Veluwe and the rest of the country shortly after. The resorts are all situated in unique locations, surrounded by the stunning nature and diverse landscape of the Netherlands.
The history of TopParken
In the 1970s, Janus Bergervoet noticed that more and more people were returning to the same vacation address and, therefore, started selling modern chalets to consumers. With the success of sales, the demand for permanent lots in beautiful locations with the right facilities and a pleasant ambiance also grew.
Janus soon operated several vacation parks under the name Continental Recreatie; from buying bare pieces of land in unique locations to offering fully equipped vacation parks, in line with the wishes and needs of the market. Creating a nice, special vacation experience has always been central to this.

In the year 2022, the Bergervoet family are still the proud owners and directors of TopParken. This makes TopParken one of the few vacation resort operators in the leisure industry that is still a genuine family business. Together with a constantly expanding team of professionals, the organization is continuously growing, and nowadays, TopParken is a leading player in the leisure industry.
Who is Janus Bergervoet?
Janus Bergervoet is the founder and owner of TopParken. He was born on March 30th, 1951, in Groningen. In the 1970s, he started a business focused on selling chalets. In 2004, Janus founded TopParken. His eye for opportunities, decades of experience, and a constantly expanding team of professionals have allowed TopParken to become a leading player.
Who is Riekie Bergervoet?
Riekie Bergervoet is the daughter of Janus Bergervoet, the founder of TopParken. She is a co-owner of TopParken. She was born on October 5th, 1972, in Ede (Gelderland). In 2004, Riekie was involved in establishing and setting up the TopParken group as we know it today. They manage the organization in close cooperation with a complete management team comprised of various professionals.
TopParken as project developer
TopParken has taken over many campsites and vacation parks in recent years and revived them. The most recent example of this is Camping de Hertshoorn in Garderen. TopParken took over this campsite in 2020 and has since developed it into a luxury vacation resort.
In addition to taking over vacation parks and campsites, TopParken also resells vacation parks. For example, in 2021 TopParken sold three vacation parks on the coast: Parc du Soleil, Recreatiepark de Woudhoeve and Recreatiepark Noordwijkse Duinen. This gave the organization more room for the further development of existing and new vacation parks.
In addition to being the owners, the Bergervoet family are also the directors of TopParken. They manage the organization in close cooperation with a complete management team comprised of various professionals.
Has TopParken been sold?
No, TopParken has not been sold. In 2021, TopParken did sell three vacation parks. This gave TopParken room for the renewal of existing vacation parks, and the qualitative further development of new locations.
